Own the process, not the subscription

The Nurse AI OS Setup Kit

Models change. Prices change. Promos end. The thing you actually own is the process you wrap around the model โ€” and this kit is that process, packaged. Its first asset: Architect Mode, a five-gate operating discipline for any complex or high-stakes AI work, on any Claude surface.

Free ยท works in Claude chat, Cowork, and Claude Code ยท fully yours to keep and modify

Two minutes, three moves

Install it

Download the skill file

architect-mode.skill โ€” a small package, like a laminated protocol card for your AI.

Drag it into a Claude chat

Open any Claude conversation and drop the file in. A file card appears.

Click "Save skill"

Done. From then on it triggers automatically on complex work โ€” or summon it any time by typing /architect-mode.

The discipline inside

The five gates โ€” a time-out for thinking

You'd never start a procedure without the time-out. Architect Mode gives your AI the same habit: five gates, run in order, each one catching a specific failure before it reaches you. Simple tasks skip the gates; high-stakes work runs them all, out loud.

Gate 1 ยท Scope โ€” solve the right problem

Before any work: what problem, what's in, what's out, and what "done" looks like โ€” in two sentences. Catches the most expensive failure of all: solving the wrong problem beautifully.

Gate 2 ยท Evidence โ€” verify the inputs first

Confirm the files exist, the data says what you think it says, and the facts are current โ€” before reasoning begins. A flawless chain of logic on a false premise is still wrong.

Gate 3 ยท Attack โ€” audit your own work

The AI switches from author to auditor: what's wrong, what's missing, which assumptions fail under pressure? It must find at least one real weakness โ€” then fix it.

Gate 4 ยท Verify โ€” test before declaring done

Recompute the math programmatically, check that citations actually support the claims, and test the output against Gate 1's definition of done. No "looks right to me."

Gate 5 ยท Report โ€” findings with confidence levels

Every answer arrives with four things: the findings, how confident to be (and why), what was out of scope, and the recommended next step. You calibrate instead of guessing.

Tested before shipping: in our July 2026 evals, runs with the skill passed 13 of 13 quality checks versus 12 of 13 without it โ€” the clearest gain was the AI flagging assumptions and confidence levels instead of stating invented figures as fact. The honest cost: roughly 28 seconds and a few thousand tokens more per task. For high-stakes work, that trade wins every time.

What else it teaches your AI

Two habits that outlast any model

The architect doesn't lay the bricks

The skill routes work by weight: deep reasoning plans, challenges, and verifies; cheaper models and scripts execute the well-specified pieces. Like a charge nurse running the unit โ€” assign the task, keep the judgment.

Capture the process, not just the answer

When a run goes unusually well, the skill records what worked, why, and where it applies โ€” then turns it into a checklist, template, or new skill. A great answer used once is a conversation; a captured method is an asset you own.

Want to make it yours? The kit ships with the editable source โ€” SKILL.md and the eval prompts โ€” plus the kit README. Edit, re-package, and re-save: the process belongs to you, not to any vendor. Full story in Robert's article: Fable 5 Savings End Today โ€” How to Keep the Music Playing โ†’
